Five facts about a boy with Battistella

Living life in the open and embracing the "nude," authentic version of yourself is such an important thing to me. By choosing to put my life on display and showcase my personal journey, I’m able to use my platform as a fashion blogger to open up and share my authentic self with a wider audience.

That's why, when I heard the concept for Battistella's new condo building, I was beyond thrilled. Nude by Battistella is stripping it back to what really matters. So, in that spirit, I’m doing the same. I'm opening myself up and giving you 5 facts about myself you may not know!

1. An astrology nut.
Honestly, one of my favorite topics and things to bring up way too often is astrology. I love reading up on my sign, checking my horoscope and comparing birth charts. Obviously, as a Capricorn, I keep everything shadowed by a layer of "..." but little do they know that I'm analyzing everything. Especially when it comes to sign compatibility. And yes, I have ended dates because of someone's Zodiac sign. So, please, Leos to the back of the line.

2. Old Hollywood glamour.
Growing up, I wasn't extremely exposed to modern pop culture of the ’90s and early 2000s. I spent the majority of my childhood with Old Hollywood and watching cartoons like Rocket Robin Hood, Betty Boop, HR Puff'n'Stuff and so much more. It's really shaped me and informed my appreciation of vintage fashion, film, and music. Though of course, there is so much I still love from my childhood that was current, I still always find myself getting excited over The Mama and The Papas, ABBA, Edith Piaf, and Marlene Dietrich so much more than TLC and Mariah Carey.

3. Hidden doodles.
Sometimes they make a cameo in my photos, but what a lot of people don't know is that I have over 20 tattoos on my body. Some have specific meanings while others are just random doodles and text I thought was funny or cute. I absolutely love my tattoos — as bad as some may be. I rarely show them off because that I got them for me and I like knowing they're there without having to showcase them every day.

4. "Cause I'm what?! Sickening"
Just like any good millennial gay, I am beyond obsessed with Rupaul's Drag Race. I remember watching the first season and being floored at what I saw on the TV. I had never been exposed to much drag at that time (due to the fact that I was a minor), and I
was instantly amazed by the make-up, the outfits and everything in between. Ten years later and I'm still watching every season, attending viewing parties and have had such an amazing time meeting and learning so much from the local drag scene ... but more about that at a later date.

5. Scary Movie?
If there's any genre of film to rush me to the movie theatre, it's gonna be horror. I will actually go to the movies and see a horror movie by myself out of pure enjoyment for the genre. Dario Argento, Wes Craven, John Carpenter, the list goes on. I will fully put a horror movie on to go to bed as well.

Just like the new Nude by Battistella condo building, I'm living in the “nude.” Opening up more about myself and keeping things exposed is such a powerful feeling.
