A boy in New York City.

If you creeped my instagram or checked my stories a few weeks ago, you would've seen a bit of my super busy adventure in New York City. It was such an amazing time and it really opened my eyes to this new part of the fashion industry I had never experienced before.
With my new job, I've been given the amazing opportunity to test my luck at buying. I've been labeled Assistant Women's Buyer and got to experience my run of showrooms and trade shows in the big apple. It was such an eyeopening experience that showed me so much more of what goes on behind the scenes and what it really takes to strategically purchase for the upcoming season.

My first time experiencing New York was at fashion week two years ago. I got to see some of my amazing friends from Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton and New York all in the same week. It's become such a treasured memory for me so I was beyond excited to have the chance to go again.
This time around, instead of sleeping on my friend Olivia's sofa (hey Olivia, love you. Miss you.) My boss and I stayed at Hotel 309 in Chelsea. It was perfect for the amount of space we needed since we'd be running around all day. It's extremely close to the subway and just minutes away from the Chelsea Market/High Line walkway.
I would definitely recommend checking out Hotel 309 if you're going to New York for business but I highly recommend making sure you select a room with an on-suite bathroom. Some don't come with a bathroom so make sure you get one otherwise you're sharing with everyone else.

There's so much more I wish I could say about the trip, but you'll just have to wait for SS18. Don't forget to check out the current fall buy officially in-store and online for Leo Boutique.
Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the SS18 collection to appear. I know for a fact it's gonna be an exciting season with some amazing new vendors that you'll all love. Cause I know I already do.
See you in February, NYC!
