The best of NYFW

It's every fashion lover's christmas!
Though Spring/Summer fashion month is always my least favorite, it still doesn't hurt to talk about my favorite shows for the upcoming season! New York has been letting me down for SS17, and I'm pretty sad about it! The shows I had been waiting for left me with a bad taste in my mouth. BUT there have still been some amazing triumphs throughout the season and a lot of change within brands. Can we take a moment to acknowledge the AMAZING Diane Von Furstenberg collection? Jonathan Saunders was definitely a move in the right direction.
Now it's onto London! So excited for J.W.Anderson's opening day collection. I know you can expect to see that all over my instagram/snapchat/blog once it hits!

Thom Browne - SS17
I honestly don't know how Thom does it every season. I think it's safe to say that Thom Browne is one of my favorite designers. Similar to the men's show, the women came out in very 50s/60s style hairnets and robes, revealing the same pastel toned looks as in the men's show. I love the whole single piece, multiple layers stitched on look from both this collection and the men's. And that swimsuit reveal at the end!? Thank you Thom. Click here to watch the show

Self-portrait - SS17
Self-portrait is a brand that I never really focused on until very recently, and boy I'm sad I waited so long. I always thought they were a 100% dress line, but seeing the trousers and button ups got me REAL excited for SS17. I definitely think this might be the season Self-Portrait enters the closet...

Rosie Assoulin - SS17
I'm really sad that more people don't pay attention to darling Rosie cause her stuff is amazing! And the runway shows are always so cool. Not to mention the lookbook shots. Packaging peanuts to create the beach? I'm so obsessed. And can we talk about the gown in the middle? I'm in awe over how beautiful it is. Click here to see the collection!

Diane Von Furstenberg - SS17
I think it's safe to say that this has been one of the biggest shocks from New York. Yes Dianne is an extremely iconic brand, but it's also been lacking any kind of modern growth. But now that Jonathan Saunders has taken over, I want to wear Diane Von Furstenberg! Click Here for the full collection

Proenza Schouler - SS17
A show I'm waiting for every year. Proenza Schouler has easily become one of my top brands. Not only do they look cool as hell, but the quality is there with their pieces. And lord knows I need that jacket in the middle. So I think this'll be the spring/summer of Paul in Proenza. Click Here for the show!
Delpozo - SS17
All I can really do at this point is thank Delpozo for existing. Personally, I found New York extremely lacklustre this season. With a select few of obvious success, Delpozo is leading that list. Can we talk about the coats, the tops, the dresses, well... like everything!? Click here for the best show of the week.

Derek Lam - SS17
I have a secret obsession. And that obsession is Derek Lam. Though I personally know his stuff doesn't really fit my style at all times, I have to say that I just love looking at his collections. SS17 is just as beautiful as I had hoped and I just had to add it to my favorites list. Click Here for the lookbook!

Bibhu Mohapatra - SS17
One of my New York favorites! If you've spoken to me in person, you know all I can do is rave about Bibhu Mohapatra gowns and how much I love them and how badly I wish everyone would wear Bibhu to every function during the holiday season. So here I am. Once again freaking out over my darling Bibhu. Click here for the collection.
